Monolith is the second album by the British crust punk band Amebix, released in 1987. The album was recorded and mixed at SAM Studios, Bristol, UK in May/June 1987. It features 9 tracks, including the instrumental Monolith, and was reissued in 2008 by Moshpit Tragedy Records. Amebix are considered one of the first crust punk bands and innovated the gritty sound of the genre. The band was formed in 1978 and split up in 1987, but reunited in 2008 and disbanded again in 2012.
